Card Studio

The Card Studio is where your cards get their look. Design a template once — layout, art, colours — then turn out any number of finished cards from it, each with its own title, art, and stats.

Templates and cards

A template is the reusable design: the card’s front and back layout, art style, theme, and the fields a card of this kind carries (a spell has a level and a casting time; a monster has hit points).
A card is a filled-in copy of a template — Fireball is a card made from your spell template.

Design the template once and every card made from it stays consistent.

Designing a template

From the Card Studio home screen choose Design Template (or Design Template on your templates page). On an empty card, the quick start asks “What are you designing?” — pick a game system and card type, then start from a ready-made design, a layout, or a blank card.

You design the front and back side by side. The left panel has three tabs:

Settings — the template’s name, description, card type, tags, and a default card finish.
Design — the visual work: background colours and gradients, shapes, images, and the text, stat, and image areas that show each card’s own values. See the content layer for the full tour.

A floating toolbar gives you Undo, Redo, Preview, and Save.

Keyboard

Press ⌘⇧K (Ctrl+Shift+K on Windows / Linux) for the studio’s command bar: type to add any block, change the view, zoom, switch panels, or save, without hunting for the control. Plain ⌘K still opens PostRoll’s app-wide command palette, here as everywhere.

Tab and Shift+Tab move between the blocks on a card in reading order, and Enter selects the one you land on — so a card can be built and checked without a mouse. The arrow keys nudge whatever is selected; hold Shift to nudge ten times as far. Alt-drag a block to leave a copy behind.

Building a card from a template

Open the template you want to use.
Fill in the card’s fields side by side — a progress badge tracks how many fields are filled, and the front and back previews update as you type.
Set the card’s Title, tags, and whether it’s public, and pick a finish.
Click Create card.

Your libraries

My Cards — every card you’ve made, plus a Shared cards tab for cards others shared with you. Search, filter by system, type, or tag, and browse as a grid or flip through them one at a time.
Templates — your template designs and templates shared with you, with a Design Template button to start a new one.
