Backlinks & mentions

You never have to maintain a “see also” list by hand. Every wikilink you write is recorded in both directions, so any page can tell you who points at it.

Open the right-hand rail on a wiki page — the Connections button in the controls down the right edge of the screen — and you’ll find two lists under your tags:

  • Mentioned In — everything that links to this page.
  • Mentions — everything this page links out to.

Both are grouped so long lists stay readable: Entities, Actors, In World, and Out of World for links that cross into another of your worlds. Click any row to jump straight there.

The same two lists appear on actor sheets. Entity pages show their connections on the entity’s own Connections tab instead, so the rail doesn’t repeat itself.

They’re derived from the wikilinks in your pages, and they refresh when the page saves. Write [[The Ashen Vault]] in a session log and the Vault’s page gains a “Mentioned In” entry pointing back at the log.

  • Links to entities, timeline events, actors, wiki pages and published reference entries are all recorded.
  • Timeline events don’t clutter these lists — they get their own home in the Chronology tab of the details panel.
  • Duplicate links from the same page count once.

The rail is for you, the author. If you want readers — players, or someone you’ve shared the world with — to see the connections, put them in the page body with an Index block:

  • Backlinks — everything that links to this page.
  • All links — everything that links to or from it, de-duplicated.

On a location or faction page that turns into a living “appears in” section that never needs editing.

For the wide view rather than one page’s worth, use:

  • World links — every link in the world, listed and filterable.
  • The world graph — the same connections drawn as nodes and edges, with cross-world links picked out in amber.
