Combat

Combat on the tabletop is a shared turn order everyone can see. The GM starts it, everyone rolls initiative, and the table works down the list round after round until the GM ends it.

  1. Select the tokens that are in the fight — drag a box around them, or shift-click each one.
  2. Open the Combat tab in the scene sidebar (the crossed-swords icon) and click Start Combat. The button shows how many tokens you have selected.
  3. Roll initiative. Anyone who controls a combatant can roll for it with the small dice button on its row; the GM can roll for the whole encounter at once with Roll All, or type a value in by hand.
  4. Sort the order. Sort puts the roster in initiative order, highest first.
  5. Take turns. Next moves to the following combatant. When the order wraps back to the top, the round number goes up. Combatants marked as defeated are skipped.
  6. End combat with the End button in the panel header when the fight is over.

The turn order lives with the running session, not with the saved scene. It survives refreshes and reconnects, and everyone at the table sees the same round, the same order, and the same active turn.

Nothing about combat is tied to one game system — initiative values are just numbers, so a spotlight order or a fixed order works exactly as well as rolled initiative.
