Export Formats Compared

PostRoll exports the same world three different ways. Pick by where the result will be read.

The PDF export re-composes your wiki for print: cover, title page, table of contents, chapter openers, page numbers, and clickable cross-references, in your choice of publication theme, fonts, and paper size. It renders in the background with live progress, and you can save your settings as reusable presets. This is the format for printing and for anything you’d sell or hand out as a finished document.

ePub — when it’s for reading on a device

Section titled “ePub — when it’s for reading on a device”

Export ePub (in the same export dialog as PDF) builds a .epub ebook in your browser and downloads it straight away — no waiting on a render queue. It always covers the whole wiki: folders become the book’s structure, and images, card galleries, and index listings come along. Because ePub text reflows, readers control the text size — great on phones and e-readers, but it won’t reproduce a fixed page design. If your world has no wiki pages yet, there’s nothing to build.

Markdown export lives on the timeline, not the wiki: one click produces your world’s history as a text file, in a full GM version or a player-safe version with GM-only material stripped. Perfect for pasting a recap into Discord or keeping a plain-text archive. The same menu offers a calendar feed, PNG snapshots, and a full backup.
