The feed on a phone

On a computer the feed sits between two columns of panels — who to follow, what is trending, which games are live, and a summary of your own activity. A phone has room for one column, so the panels come off the feed. The question is where they land, and the answer is not “nowhere”.

Discover is where the rails went

The bottom tab bar’s Discover tab opens the same place the search box does. Before you type anything, it shows the content that used to live in the feed’s side rails:

• Live games — rooms with a session running right now.
• People you might follow — the same suggestions as the desktop rail.
• Trending — outposts and tags with momentum behind them.
• Today’s deck — a handful of cards worth looking at.

Start typing and the shelf gives way to results. Clear the box and it comes back.

Why not a panel on the feed?

Collapsing side rails on a phone is right — every social app does it. The half that is easy to forget is that the content has to reappear somewhere. Putting it on the tab already named Discover means the tab does what it says, and the feed stays a feed.

There is a Discover button in the feed’s header too, so you do not have to remember which tab it is.

What deliberately is not on the phone

Two of the desktop panels are missing on purpose: your own profile summary and your activity totals. Both answer “how am I doing”, which is what the profile tab is for. A Discover tab that opens on your own follower count is a Discover tab that discovers nothing.

The feed itself

The feed reflows to one column and behaves the same as it does anywhere else — cards, posts, shared boards and scenes all render at phone width. Posting works from the phone as well; see posting cards to feeds for what a shared card looks like when it lands.
