Whispers
A whisper is a side message inside a channel that only one named recipient can see. Useful for play-by-post — a GM telling one player what their character notices that the others don’t.
Whisper to a player
Section titled “Whisper to a player”/w @aerin You feel watched./w @brom The merchant slipped you a note. The composer’s /w command takes @username and the message body.
The recipient sees it inline in the channel feed; no other player
does.
If you @-tab to someone who isn’t a member of the channel, you’ll get a friendly error and the message won’t post.
What players see
Section titled “What players see”The recipient sees a regular bubble with a small “whispered to you” indicator. It posts inline in the same channel feed where they were already reading — no jumping to a separate screen.
When to whisper vs DM
Section titled “When to whisper vs DM”- Whisper — keeps the side info anchored in the play context. Other GMs in the channel still see whispers (because they have Manage messages).
- DM — for entirely off-table conversation between two specific people.
