Session prep checklist
Everything here can be done days ahead, in private — opening a scene from your library gives you the same tools you’ll use at the table. Tick through each block; every line links to the page that shows you how.
The scene
Section titled “The scene”- Map ready — uploaded, or generated in the Map Foundry, with the grid aligned (Auto Grid does it in a few clicks) — creating a scene
- Walls and doors traced so they block sight and light — creating a scene
- Fog of war set — decide what starts hidden
- Lighting placed — torches, mood, time of day
The cast
Section titled “The cast”- Stat blocks built for tonight’s monsters and NPCs — creating a monster or NPC
- Tokens pre-placed on the scene with Add Token — creating a scene
- Spells, abilities, and gear attached to the actors that need them — cards on the character sheet
The sound
Section titled “The sound”- Ambience and music queued as mixes & playlists
- One-shot cues (door slam, dragon roar) loaded on a soundboard
- Know where Mute and Stop all audio live before you need them — audio in a session
Cards & handouts
Section titled “Cards & handouts”- Flip through tonight’s spells and monster abilities as decks — or pull anything missing from the Compendium
- Loot and reveals drafted as sealed messages, ready to unseal at the dramatic moment
- Secret checks planned? Refresh on secret rolls
The table
Section titled “The table”- Session scheduled and visible in the room’s Schedule tab — your room hub
- RSVPs checked — enough Going to run? If the night is shaky, a Find a time poll finds a better one
- On game night: Enter Play, then Start Session so voice, video, and the transcript open up for your players — live sessions
