Forwarding to another conversation
Forward a message into another conversation when you want to share it across contexts — a player’s epic in-character moment from the table-chat into the OOC channel, a GM’s lore reveal from one campaign to another, an answer from a DM into the planning channel.
How to forward
Section titled “How to forward”- Right-click the message and pick Forward to….
- The dialog lists every conversation you’re in. Search by name if the list is long.
- Pick the target conversation. PostRoll switches you to that conversation and prefills the composer with the forwarded message.
- Add commentary if you like, then Enter to send.
What recipients see
Section titled “What recipients see”Your message arrives with an attribution block: who said it originally, in which conversation. The block uses the destination group’s accent colour so it visually integrates with that conversation’s identity.
Forwarded from @Aerin in #table-chat"It's not a chest. It's a face."(Followed by your commentary, if any.)
What gets carried
Section titled “What gets carried”- Text content — exactly as posted.
- Mentions — chips persist but don’t re-fire notifications in
the destination (the
@userchip needs to point at a member of the destination conversation to ping anyone there). - Inline rolls and entity references — render correctly in the destination.
- Images — the actual image, not a copy. If the original was uploaded to PostRoll’s storage, the forwarded copy points to the same file.
What doesn’t carry
Section titled “What doesn’t carry”- Reactions — they’re per-message; the forwarded copy starts with no reactions.
- Pin / bookmark state — those are local to the original.
- Visibility — a forwarded copy of a GM-only or sealed message doesn’t preserve its visibility. Be careful not to forward things players shouldn’t see.
