Styling & moving blocks

Every block on a wiki page — a paragraph, a table, a picture — has the same set of controls behind one handle.

The drag handle

Hover to the left of any block and a ⋮⋮ grip appears, alongside a + for inserting a new block. The grip’s tooltip tells you what it does:

  • Click for options — opens the block menu.
  • Hold for drag — press and hold, then drag the block to a new spot on the page. A line shows where it will land.

Styling a block

Color opens a submenu with two sets of swatches:

  • Text color — Default, Gray, Brown, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Red
  • Background color — the same ten, applied as a block background

Colours you’ve used recently appear at the top under Recent colors. Clicking the colour that’s already applied clears it.

Border opens a submenu for outlining the block:

  • Thickness — None, 1px, 2px, 4px, 8px
  • Style — solid, dashed, dotted, double
  • Color — the same ten-colour palette
  • Remove border — clears it entirely

Borders come with rounded corners, so a bordered paragraph reads as a proper boxed aside.

Alignment for ordinary text isn’t on this menu — select the text and use the selection toolbar that appears above it, where Align left, Align center, Align right and Align justify live under the … button. Inside a table, the block menu does carry an Alignment submenu for the current cell.

Working with a block

Further down the same menu:

Action Shortcut What it does
Turn Into — Convert between text, headings, lists, quote and code
Duplicate node ⌘D / Ctrl+D Drops an identical copy directly beneath
Copy to clipboard ⌘C / Ctrl+C Copies the whole block, ready to paste elsewhere
Copy anchor link ⌘⌃L / Ctrl+Alt+L Copies a link that points at this block
Delete Backspace Removes the block

Every block has a stable anchor, so Copy anchor link gives you a URL that opens the page and jumps straight to that paragraph. Handy for pointing a player at one clause of a treaty rather than the whole treaty page, or for cross-referencing a specific line from another wiki page.

The anchor stays with the block if you move it, so links don’t rot when you reorganise a page.

Moving blocks

Three ways to shift a block:

  • Drag it. Hold the ⋮⋮ handle and drag.
  • Keyboard. ⌘⇧↑ / ⌘⇧↓ (Ctrl+Shift+↑ / ↓) moves the current block up or down one place.
  • On a phone or tablet. The mobile toolbar has Move Up and Move Down buttons.

Some blocks add their own entries to the same menu — Fit to width and Clear all contents on tables, Switch to Circle on meters, Rename section on collapsible sections, Layout on index blocks. Those are covered on each block’s own page.
