The satchel

Prep is rarely about one thing. You gather four NPCs, a place and a roll table, and then you want them together — on the next page, and the page after that.

The bookmark icon on the Companion’s header picks up whatever is in focus. The satchel icon in the top row opens what you’re carrying.

  • Assembling a cast before a session, then reaching them from any page
  • Holding a place and its two rival factions while you write about the third
  • Keeping the roll table you’re about to need at the table

Click anything in the satchel to focus it. Hover a row and use the to put it down.

Underneath the satchel is a short list of things you’ve touched recently. It’s there so that opening the Companion on a page with nothing in focus is still useful — you get back to what you were doing without going hunting.

Anything already in your satchel is left out of that list, to save saying the same thing twice.

The satchel holds up to two dozen things and lives in your browser, so it’s per device and doesn’t sync between them. It’s meant as scratch space for a working session.

If you want a set that lasts, is shareable, and travels with your account, make a collection instead — the Companion will show it under Gathered in.
