Token settings

Everything about a single piece is reachable two ways: a quick right-click menu on the map, and a full settings panel for the fiddly bits.

Right-click a token (or press and hold it on a touch screen) and a menu opens at your cursor:

Option What it does
Open Sheet Opens the linked character’s sheet. Only appears when the token is linked to an actor.
Add Condition Sub-menu of the common conditions — pick one to apply it, pick a ticked one to clear it. GM only.
Size Sub-menu: 0.5×0.5, 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, 4×4. The current size is ticked.
Move Mode Sub-menu: Bounce, Smooth, Teleport, Direct. The current one is ticked.
Vision Sub-menu: Radius, Type (toggles between Cone and Sphere), Darkvision (toggles on and off).
Delete Token Removes the token from the scene. GM only.
Settings Opens the full panel below.

Settings slides a Token Settings panel in from the left. At the top is the token’s picture with a Change Image button; below it:

Five buttons, 0.5×0.5 through 4×4, in grid squares.

Bounce, Smooth, Teleport or Direct — see Moving & selecting tokens.

  • Radius — how far the token can see.
  • TypeSphere (all round) or Cone (a facing).
  • Darkvision — lets the token see in unlit areas.
  • Edge softness — 0 gives a hard rim on the vision sphere and its fog reveal, 1 a full radial fade.
  • Detection modes — extra senses such as blindsight, tremorsense and truesight, each with its own Range. See Detection modes.
Switch What it does
Constrained by Walls Stops the token moving through walls.
Graphic Rotation When off, the picture stays upright but the vision still turns.
Invisible Hidden from players without blindsight, tremorsense, truesight or see-invisibility in range. The GM and anyone controlling the token always see it.
Illusion Marks the token as illusory. Players with truesight see a faint indicator; everyone else sees it as if real.

Ring the token so the whole table can see a zone it carries.

  • Show Aura Ring turns it on and off.
  • Radius sets how far the zone reaches, in feet, from 5 up to 60.
  • Color is yours to pick — give the paladin’s aura and the cleric’s Spirit Guardians different colours and nobody has to ask which is which.

On a square grid the aura draws as a soft ring; on a hex grid it outlines the hexes it actually covers, because on hexes that’s what “20 feet” means.

Everyone at the table sees the ring, except when the aura came from a GM-only condition or sits on a token that player can’t see. Anyone can hide every aura on their own screen with Show Aura Zones in Tabletop settings.

The Shape of the selection ring — Circle or Square — and its Glow Color.

Pick which of the room’s characters this token represents, or None (GM only). See Who can move which token.

Tick individual players to hand them control of this token as well — useful for shared summons and familiars.

At the bottom sits Delete Token.
