Tables

Tables earn their keep in a wiki — price lists, random encounter tables, a roster of who’s who in a guild.

Inserting a table

Type /table and pick Table. You get a 3×3 grid with no header row; turn one on yourself if you want it.

Adding and removing rows and columns

The quick way. Two thin + strips sit just outside the table — one along the bottom, one down the right — and appear when you hover near that edge.

  • Click either one to add a single row or column at the end.
  • Drag it outwards to add several at once.
  • Drag it back inwards to remove trailing rows or columns. It will only remove empty ones, and never the last one — so if you drag back over rows with text in them, nothing happens. That’s deliberate.

The precise way. Hover over a row or column and a small ⋮ handle appears — above the column, or to the left of the row. Click it for a menu:

  • Insert row above / Insert row below (or Insert column left / Insert column right)
  • Move row up / Move row down (or Move column left / Move column right)
  • Duplicate row / Duplicate column
  • Delete row / Delete column
  • Clear row contents / Clear column contents — empties the cells but keeps them

You can also drag the ⋮ handle to move a whole row or column somewhere else.

Header row and column

Open the handle menu on the first row or the first column and you’ll also see Header row or Header column. Only the first row and first column can be headers — there’s no way to promote row three.

Sorting

When a row or column has at least two entries and no merged cells, its menu gains Sort row A-Z / Sort row Z-A (or the column equivalents). Header cells stay put, and empty cells sort to the end. If the options aren’t there, the row or column has a merged cell in it or the table is only one cell wide.

Cells

Drag across several cells to select them; a small grip appears at the bottom-right of the selection. Click it for the cell menu:

  • Merge cells and Split cell — each shown only when it’s possible right now
  • Color — a submenu with Text color and Background color swatches, so you can tint individual cells
  • Alignment — Align left / center / right, then Align top / middle / bottom
  • Clear row contents

Column widths

Drag the border between two columns to resize them. New columns start at 120 px wide, and you can drag down to about 35 px.

Whole-table options

These live on the block’s ⋮⋮ drag-handle menu (the one to the left of the table), not on the row or cell handles:

  • Fit to width — evens out every column so the table fills the width of the page. The fastest fix for a table that’s drifted lopsided.
  • Enable rounded corners / Disable rounded corners — softens the table’s outer corners.
  • Alignment — the same alignment options, applied to the current cell.
  • Clear all contents — empties the whole table but leaves the grid standing.

To remove a table entirely, select it with the ⋮⋮ handle and use Delete — there’s no “delete table” item on the row or cell menus.
