Your setup checklist
When you create a new Outpost, the Feed tab opens with a “Welcome to your outpost” checklist at the top. It’s a curated five-step shortlist tailored to your Outpost’s type — the things that get a fresh space to “feels alive” the fastest.
Universal steps (every Outpost)
Section titled “Universal steps (every Outpost)”- Add a banner image — your first impression. Drag a PNG / JPG / WEBP into the Banner field in Settings, or paste a URL.
- Write an About blurb — two or three sentences on what this space is for. Renders at the top of your Feed tab.
Type-specific steps
Section titled “Type-specific steps”| Outpost type | What’s on the checklist |
|---|---|
| Game Table | Add your GM style · Publish your first game · Schedule a session |
| Creator Studio | Upload at least three portfolio images · List a product · Set up supporter tiers |
| Publisher | Publish your first title · Create staff roles · Open a subscriber tier |
| Community | Pin a welcome thread · Schedule a community event · Invite a moderator |
| Guild | Invite founding members · Set up the shared shop · Schedule a meet |
Each item is a link — click it to open the right surface in Settings or Admin and finish the step.
The checklist self-completes
Section titled “The checklist self-completes”You don’t need to “mark done” anything. As you finish each step the check fills in automatically — set a banner, the Banner step ticks; publish a game, Publish your first game ticks; pin a post in the community feed, Pin a welcome thread ticks.
The progress bar at the top updates in real time.
Hiding the checklist
Section titled “Hiding the checklist”Two ways:
- Finish every step — the panel auto-hides once every check is green. It’s served its purpose.
- Dismiss manually — click the ✕ in the panel’s top-right corner to hide it permanently. You can’t un-dismiss; the individual surfaces (Settings, Shop, Events) keep working regardless.
What’s NOT on the checklist
Section titled “What’s NOT on the checklist”The checklist is the first 80% boost, not a complete setup guide. Things you might also want once you’re past it:
- Custom emoji — Admin → Custom emoji.
- Channel permissions — Admin → Roles & permissions, then the channel context menu in chat for per-channel overrides.
- Audit log review — Admin → Audit log.
- Stripe Connect onboarding — Settings → Monetisation.
