Posts & comments

Every Outpost has a built-in feed where members share text, links, and images. Comments and reactions are built in too.

Posting

You need to be a member of an Outpost to post in it. Open the Outpost — the composer sits at the top of the feed, with your draft saved as you type.

The composer is template-aware: pick a post type along the top (Quick post, Announcement, Art, Poll) and the form re-renders to the fields that type asks for. Quick post is the default — one textarea plus an optional cover image keeps the casual path one click.

Open the Outpost from /app/outposts/<slug> or your My outposts list.
Click the composer at the top of the feed.
Pick a post type. Quick post is the default.
Fill the fields — required fields are marked with a red asterisk.
Click Post.

Post types

Quick post — a short text status with an optional cover image.
Announcement — a headline plus a body, with an optional call-to-action button.
Art — an image-first post with a title, caption, and artist credit.
Poll — a question and 2-8 options. Members vote inline.
More… — surfaces Listing announcement and Session highlight. Those are normally auto-drafted by the system — see Announcing & highlighting games.

Your post appears immediately at the top of the feed.

Reactions

Hover or tap a post to react. Tap the heart to like; the count updates immediately.

The reaction set is currently fixed to ❤.

Comments

Each post has a comment button (the speech bubble icon) showing the current comment count. Tap to expand the thread and reply inline.

Tap the comment button to expand the thread.
Type your reply at the bottom and press Enter (Shift+Enter for a new line).
The reply appears in place; the post’s comment count updates.

Editing & deleting

Posts and comments can’t be edited after they’re published yet — if something needs fixing, ask a moderator to remove the post and post again. Moderators remove content through the moderation queue; removed posts disappear from the feed but are preserved for moderation and audit.

If you spot abuse, click the More menu on a post to report it — see Reporting content.

Visibility

When you post, the default visibility is Members — only people in the Outpost see it. The full set of visibility options:

Public — visible to anyone (only meaningful in public Outposts).
Members — every member of the Outpost. The default.
Tier — visible only to people who hold a specific tier role. Pair this with a required role; usually that’s a managed membership-tier role. Useful for behind-the-scenes posts that only your paying supporters should see.
Private — visible only to you (drafts) and the Outpost’s moderators.

Following

Tap Follow on an Outpost’s header to add it to your home feed at /app/home. You don’t need to be a member to follow — followers see public posts from that Outpost in their feed.

If you’re already a member, your home feed shows the Outpost’s full member feed automatically; you don’t need to also follow.

Once a day, if you follow Outposts you aren’t a member of, you’ll get a catch-up notification bundling the new posts from those Outposts. The digest only fires if there’s anything new and skips Outposts you’re already a member of. Turn it off any time from Settings → Notifications.

Live updates

Your Outpost feed updates live — new posts, comments, and reactions appear as they happen without a page refresh. The same applies inside an expanded comment thread: replies stream in for everyone watching.

Following individual authors & tags

Two ways to lean your home feed toward what you care about without joining every Outpost:

Follow an author — open their profile and tap Follow. Their posts get a small boost in your home feed even in Outposts you aren’t a member of.
Follow a tag — any tag chip on an Outpost (e.g. #osr, #5e, #solo-rpg) has a Follow action. Posts in Outposts tagged with what you follow get a boost.

Both signals slot into the home-feed ranker alongside membership and supporter tiers. They tilt the order; they don’t force in unrelated posts.
