Card embeds

If a page is about a spell, a magic item or a monster you’ve already built as a card, you can put the card itself into the page rather than retyping its rules.

Card

Card (/card) embeds one card, rendered exactly as it looks anywhere else in PostRoll.

1. Type /card and pick Card.
2. A prompt asks you for the card’s id. Paste it in and confirm.
3. The card loads into the page.

Readers get the same controls as elsewhere: flip the card to see its back, or enlarge it to read it full size.

Swiper Cards

Swiper Cards (/swiper) embeds several cards as one swipeable stack — good for a spell list, a loot hoard, or the deck a faction fights with.

1. Type /swiper and pick Swiper Cards.
2. The prompt asks for comma-separated card ids — for example abc123, def456, ghi789.
3. The stack appears, and readers can swipe or click through it.

Any id that doesn’t resolve to a card shows as a placeholder rather than breaking the rest of the stack, so you can spot a typo and fix it.

Finding a card’s id

Both blocks ask for an id rather than giving you a picker, so have the id to hand before you start. See Cards for where a card’s id lives.

Tip

Got the id wrong? You can’t edit it in place — delete the block and insert a fresh one. Select the block with its ⋮⋮ handle and press Backspace, or use Delete from the same menu.

Caution

An embedded card is a live view, not a copy. Edit the card later and every page that embeds it shows the new version. That’s usually what you want — but it does mean a card you delete leaves an empty embed behind.
