Appearing and disappearing features

When you link a pin, region, or path to timeline events, the time slider decides whether to show it at any given moment using two simple rules.

A feature is visible at a slider position when both are true:

  1. It has appeared. Either it has no “appearance” links at all, or at least one of them points to an event that has already happened.
  2. It hasn’t been destroyed. Either it has no destroyed links, or none of them has happened yet.

Every relationship type except destroyed counts as an appearance.

A citadel pin linked to Founding of Veilharrow (created, 1101) and The Burning of the South Tower (destroyed, 1230):

Slider position Visible? Why
1080 (pre-founding) No Not founded yet
1150 (founded, intact) Yes Founded, not yet destroyed
1230+ (post-burning) No A destroyed link has been reached

Open the feature’s tool panel, find the chip in Linked timeline events, and click the ×. The map updates straight away.
