Wiki chronology

Your wiki and your timeline describe the same world. Wiki chronology ties them together so a page knows where its subject sits in history, and an event knows which page tells its full story — and you can move between the two from either side.

Open any wiki page and open its detail panel (the right-hand panel), then switch to the Chronology tab. It lists every event connected to that page, grouped by era or year in your world’s calendar.

A page picks up events from two places:

Events linked directly to the page (see below), and
if the page is bound to an entity (a character, place, faction…), every event that involves that entity.

So a page about Queen Maerith that’s bound to the Maerith entity shows her birth, her coronation, the War of Ash, and her death — without you linking each one to the page by hand.

Add or link events from the page

From the Chronology tab (as an editor):

Add event creates a new event and links it to this page in one step.
Link event (the chain icon) searches your world’s events and attaches an existing one to the page.

Link to an event from inside a page

While writing, type [[ and start searching. Alongside pages, entities, and references, your world’s timeline events now appear in the results (marked 🕑). Pick one to drop an inline link to that event.

Hovering the link shows a small preview — the event’s type, date, certainty, and summary.
The link also registers as a backlink, so the event shows up in that page’s Chronology panel.

Jump from an event to its page

Open an event in the timeline and find the Page section in its inspector:

If the event already has a linked page, choose Open linked page to go straight to it.
If it doesn’t, Create page for this event makes a new wiki page named after the event and links the two together — ready for you to write the full account.

This keeps one home for long-form prose: short events stay as timeline markers, and the ones that deserve a full write-up get a bound page.
