If your view falls behind

In a live room, everyone sees the same scene — when you move a token, everyone watching sees it move. Almost always this just works. On a patchy connection your view can occasionally fall a little behind, so the VTT gives you a quick way to check and put it right: the Connection & Sync panel.

  1. Open VTT Settings — the gear icon in the toolbar. It’s available to everyone in the room, GM and players alike.

  2. Connection & Sync is the first section at the top.

A small coloured dot shows how your view is doing:

  • Live — your view is up to date. Nothing to do.
  • Syncing… — catching up on the latest changes. This clears on its own in a moment.
  • Reconnecting… — the connection dropped and is coming back. Your view updates automatically once it does.
  • Out of sync — your view has fallen behind and hasn’t caught up on its own. Click Resync now.

Resync now refreshes your view with the latest version of the scene — tokens, walls, fog, and lighting all update to match what everyone else sees. It’s quicker and smoother than reloading the whole page, and it’s safe to use any time your scene looks off, even if the status still says Live.

The button is greyed out while you’re reconnecting or already syncing — there’s nothing to update until your connection is back.
