Create your first world

A world is your setting — the place the lore, the cast, the maps and the history all live, under one roof called the World Hub. It isn’t the same thing as a campaign: one world can host a long-running game, a few one-shots and a spin-off table all at once, so you’ll usually want one world per setting, not one per game.

Worlds are also happy to be small. Yours can be a single night’s notes for a one-shot or twenty years of homebrew — start with whatever you actually have.

Here’s the path from nothing to your first page of lore.

  1. Open Worlds from the sidebar (under PLAY).
  2. Click + Create World.
  3. Give it a World Name — the description, tags, and world image are all optional and can wait.
  4. Click Create, then open your new world’s card and hit View world to enter the World Hub.

The Hub is your world’s workspace, organised into six tabs:

  • Overview — a dashboard of recent activity and highlights across the world.
  • Wiki — your lore articles, with the page tree in the side rail.
  • Entities — the canonical people, places, and factions of your setting.
  • Links — connections between your world’s content.
  • Atlas — maps, scenes, and boards bound to the world.
  • Timeline — the world’s history as datable events.
  1. In the Hub’s top bar, open the + create menu and choose Wiki page. A fresh Untitled Page opens in the Wiki tab.
  2. Replace the title with something evocative — a kingdom, a tavern, session zero notes.
  3. Start writing. The editor saves as you work, and typing [[ lets you link to other pages as your wiki grows.

Entities are the canonical records of your setting: the same NPC can appear on a wiki page, a board, and a map, with all three pointing at one entry you only have to update once.

  1. Open the + create menu again and choose Entity.
  2. Pick a type — Person, Place, Faction, Item, and friends — and give it a name.
  3. Save it, and find it any time under the Entities tab.
