Prompts while a card resolves
Most cards resolve in one go. A few stop part-way and ask you something. There are three prompts you might meet, and they all wait for you before the card carries on.
Roll table
Section titled “Roll table”Cards with a random table — a wand of wonder, a wild-magic surge — show the whole table so the room can watch the roll land.
The panel names the table, lists every entry with its number range, and offers Roll 1d100 (or whatever the table uses). Press it and real 3D dice roll; the matching row lights up and scrolls itself into view. Press Apply result to hand the outcome back to the card.
Dismissing the panel with the × — “Dismiss (roll automatically)” — lets the card roll for itself instead, so a play never gets stuck.
Manual input
Section titled “Manual input”Some cards need an answer only a person can give — which mode you are using, what you are naming, a number the rules ask for.
- With options, the panel reads Choose an option: click one, then Submit.
- Without options, it reads Input needed with a text box placeholder of Enter response…. Type and press Submit or Enter.
Skip — or the ×, “Skip (resolve manually)” — passes on the question. The card then takes whatever path it was written to take when nobody answers.
A card offering another card
Section titled “A card offering another card”Some cards play a second card as part of their effect — an eldritch blast offering its repelling rider, a wand offering the spell it casts. When that happens you get a gate: a header reading “Play Repelling Blast?” — the offered card’s name in place of that one — with the offered card’s actual face beside the message “An effect wants to play …”, and Play / Cancel.
Play resolves the second card as part of the same action. Cancel skips it — the first card’s other steps still finish.
What everyone else sees
Section titled “What everyone else sees”Two things happen without anyone pressing a button:
- The card reveal. The played card’s face scales up from the caster’s token, hangs for a moment, and drifts away — on every screen at the table, anchored to where that token sits on their view.
- The result card. A floating panel in the bottom-right corner lists the play step by step: each roll with its breakdown, hit or miss against armour class, save results per target, damage totals, conditions applied. Any random table that came up is reprinted with the rolled row highlighted. Dismiss it with the × — the same summary is already in the game log.
