Audit log

The audit log records every group-level change: role edits, member joins / leaves, kicks and bans, channel renames, permission changes. Useful for “who did what when” investigations and for the GM to keep a calm record of community moderation.

Group settings → Audit log. Entries are listed newest-first with the actor (who did it), the action, and any relevant details (the affected member, the role, the channel name).

Examples:

  • role.created / role.edited / role.deleted
  • role.assigned / role.unassigned (member ↔ role)
  • member.joined / member.kicked / member.banned / member.unbanned
  • channel.created / channel.renamed / channel.deleted
  • channel.override.upserted / channel.override.deleted

Each row has a timestamp and the action’s context. Hover or click to expand for details.

  • Message content changes (edits, deletes) — these are per-message, not group-level. Deleted messages leave a visible trace in the feed instead.
  • DMs — the audit log is group-scoped only.

Reading the audit log requires the View audit log permission. By default the Owner has it; the Moderator preset includes it; grant to other roles as needed.

Audit entries are append-only and retained indefinitely. PostRoll doesn’t currently surface a way to clear them — they’re meant as a permanent record.
