The 5e System Reference Document

The 5e System Reference Document (SRD 5.1) is a complete 5th Edition reference — 319 spells, 334 monsters, every class, condition, and core rule — free for every PostRoll account, forever.

You can browse the whole SRD on the web with no account at postroll.app/reference/5e — or add it to your Library to search and link it from your worlds and wikis.

Add it to your Library

  1. Open Library from the app sidebar.

  2. Find 5e System Reference Document (SRD 5.1) under “Free to add” (or on its marketplace page) and click Add to library — Free.

  3. That’s it — the SRD opens in your Library, and stays there.

Finding things fast

  • Browse by category — Spells, Monsters, Classes, Rules, Conditions, Equipment, Magic Items, and more — with chapters in the left sidebar.
  • Search inside the SRD with the search box at the top of the sidebar: type “fireball” or “grappled” and jump straight to the entry.
  • Spells and monsters show a proper stat block above the full text.
  • Follow links in the text. Rules terms mentioned inside an entry — a condition like grappled, a damage type like fire, a class or a subclass — are turned into links, so you can jump to that rule and back without losing your place. This works the same whether you’re reading in the app or on the web, and across all our reference systems, including the Daggerheart SRD.
  • Peek without leaving the page. Hover any in-text link (or focus it with the keyboard) and a short preview of that entry pops up, so you can check what “restrained” means mid-sentence and read on.

Use it at your table

  • Link from a wiki page — type [[ and pick the entry from the Reference group, or type srd:fireball to search only the SRD. Hovering the link shows the stat block without leaving your page.
  • Copy a link to any entry and drop it in chat or session notes.
  • Entries cross-link to each other — conditions in a monster’s abilities, schools on a spell — so rules lookups stay one click deep.
