Events
Every Outpost has an events board for scheduled gatherings — game sessions, art streams, AMAs, conventions, playtests. Members RSVP inline; reminders go out as the start time approaches.
Find the events board
Section titled “Find the events board”Open your Outpost and click the Events tab in the header. You’ll
land on /app/outposts/<slug>/events with two views:
- Upcoming — events that haven’t started yet.
- Past — events that have ended.
Create an event
Section titled “Create an event”Any member of the Outpost can schedule an event.
- Open Events and click Schedule event (top-right).
- Fill in the form:
- Title — what’s happening. 1-140 characters.
- Starts — date + time it begins. Required.
- Ends — optional. If set, must be after the start time.
- Description — what to expect. Optional.
- Location URL — Discord call, Twitch stream, in-person address map link, etc. Optional.
- Capacity — how many seats the event has. Optional. When the Going count reaches capacity, the card offers Join waitlist instead of more RSVPs. Paid events enforce capacity strictly — see Selling event tickets.
- Click Create event. The event appears at the top of the Upcoming list.
Members can RSVP with one of three states:
- Going ✅
- Maybe
- Decline
Click again to clear your RSVP. The count of “going” and “maybe” appears on the event card. The event creator sees RSVPs come in via notifications.
Linking a VTT room
Section titled “Linking a VTT room”If your event is a play session, you can paste your PostRoll VTT room URL into the Location URL field — members can follow the card’s Location link to jump straight in when it’s time.
Editing & cancelling
Section titled “Editing & cancelling”Events can’t be edited after they’re created yet — if the details change, cancel the event and schedule a new one.
The Outpost owner and moderators can Cancel an event from its card. Cancelling keeps the event visible (so RSVPs know what happened) but marks it with a Cancelled badge.
When you cancel an event, every attendee gets a notification:
- Free-event RSVPs get a plain “<event> has been cancelled” note.
- Ticketed buyers get a “…cancelled — refund issued” note; their card is refunded automatically through Stripe at the same moment.
Optionally include a reason on cancellation and it’ll appear in the notification body.
Reminders
Section titled “Reminders”PostRoll sends reminders to everyone RSVP’d going:
- One ~24 hours before the event starts.
- One ~1 hour before the event starts.
Reminders arrive as in-app notifications, plus email and push if you’ve enabled those channels in Settings → Notifications.
