The Fear & countdown tracker
The Fear & countdown tracker is the one tool here meant to be opened during a session, on a device propped next to your screen. It opens instantly, needs no account, and remembers where you were.
The GM gains a Fear whenever a player rolls with Fear — success or failure, it makes no difference — and can hold up to 12 at a time. Tap a diamond to set the pool; tapping the last filled one clears it.
Spend it to make or enhance a GM move, to seize the spotlight, or to activate an adversary’s or environment’s Fear Feature. Spending to spotlight again is on top of whatever a feature already costs.
Countdowns
Section titled “Countdowns”A countdown starts at a value, advances toward 0, and triggers when it gets there. What advances it depends on its kind:
- Standard — advances by 1 on every action roll.
- Progress and Consequence — dynamic, advancing by the roll’s outcome.
- Long-term — advances on rests instead of rolls.

Note the asymmetry: failures drive consequences, successes drive progress, and Success with Fear is the only outcome that moves both.
Repeating countdowns
Section titled “Repeating countdowns”When you add one, Repeat offers the SRD’s advanced options:
- Once — it triggers and stops at 0.
- Loop — it comes back at its starting value.
- Loop, growing / Loop, shrinking — the starting value goes up or down by one each time it loops.
On a short rest the GM gains 1d4 Fear. On a long rest, 1d4 plus the number of PCs — and they may advance one long-term countdown. The GM screen has buttons that roll and apply this for you.
Letting the dice do it
Section titled “Letting the dice do it”The duality dice roller applies the chart above to every countdown here automatically, and banks the Fear. The GM screen has both together with your encounter.
Inside PostRoll
Section titled “Inside PostRoll”Once you’re signed in, this tracker is also the Table tab of the GM Screen in Widgets — next to the rules, and openable in the side panel over whatever you’re working on. There it keeps your Fear on your account instead of in one browser, adds the rest buttons with your party size, and lets you save a separate table for each campaign.
