Managing your Outpost

Owner-only operations live under the Settings tab. Members without owner rights don’t see the tab at all.

Every Outpost surface shares the same tab strip below the cover image. Public tabs (Feed, Chat, Events, Shop, Support, Members) are visible to everyone. Owner / moderator tabs sit after a divider and only render for users with the right permission:

  • Admin — moderators only. Members, roles, custom emoji, invites, audit log, plus shortcuts to Products, Tiers, Subscribers, and Analytics.
  • Moderation — moderators only. The report queue.
  • Settings — owner only. Identity, visibility, danger zone.
  1. Open your Outpost.
  2. Click the Settings tab in the tab bar.
  3. You land on the settings page with sections for Identity, Visibility, and a Danger zone.

Editable any time:

  • Display name — your Outpost’s headline name, shown big and uppercased at the top of every page. Defaults to your slug.
  • Tagline — short pitch shown on the directory and your Outpost header.
  • About — longer prose introducing your Outpost. Renders at the top of the Feed tab.
  • GM style — Game Tables only. Shown alongside the About block.
  • Banner — drag, drop or pick from your asset library. URL paste still works for external images.
  • Gallery — only visible when the Gallery feature is on. Multi-image manager with reorder + remove, up to 24 images.
  • Tags — comma-separated. Improves discovery for public Outposts.

Not editable post-creation:

  • Slug — your URL would change, breaking inbound links.
  • Type — drives onboarding + analytics.

If you really need to change either, contact hello@postroll.app.

See Visibility & discovery.

Ownership transfer isn’t available in the app yet. If you need to transfer an Outpost to another user today, contact support.

  1. Open settings → scroll to the Danger zone.
  2. Click Delete Outpost and confirm.
  3. The Outpost is removed — it disappears from the directory and your members can no longer access it.

What’s preserved:

  • The backing chat group, channels, messages, members, roles, emojis.
  • Your members keep their chat history.

What’s gone:

  • The Outpost’s discovery page, slug, banner, tagline.

You have 30 days to ask support to restore the Outpost. After that the backing data is fully purged.

PostRoll staff can put an Outpost in a frozen state during moderation review. Frozen Outposts are readable but no new posts, messages, or purchases are allowed. While frozen:

  • An amber “This outpost is frozen” banner appears under the cover on every tab — visible to you, your members and any visitors.
  • Your settings remain editable so you can act on a review.
  • The Stripe Connect kill-switch ignores monetisation toggles for the duration of the freeze.

If your Outpost has been frozen, you’ll be notified — please reach out to support to understand what’s needed to restore it.
