Channels and folders

A group’s chat is organised into channels — each channel is a separate conversation thread. Channels can be grouped under folders to keep the rail tidy in larger groups.

  1. In the channel rail, click the + next to the folder where the channel should live (or at the top to put it at the root).
  2. Pick New channel.
  3. Name it. Optionally set a topic (one-line description shown under the channel name in the chat header).
  4. Create.

The channel opens with you as its only viewer; everyone in the group can see it (subject to channel permissions).

  1. Click the + at the root of the channel rail.
  2. Pick New folder.
  3. Name it.
  4. Drag channels into it from the rail.

Folders collapse with a click, helpful for stowing prep / archive channels.

Drag channels and folders to reorder them. The order is group-wide — every member sees the same arrangement.

Most channels are plain text channels. Linked-room groups also have system-managed channels:

  • table-chat — IC and OOC during a session.
  • game-log — the read-only log of dice rolls and play events.
  • transcript — voice transcription captures.
  • gm-private — visible only to GMs.
  • notes — long-form session notes.

These are managed automatically by the linked room. Most renames / deletes work the same way; the kind decides which play events land in each channel.

Right-click the channel in the rail for Rename or Delete. Both require Manage channels in the group.

Deleting a channel is permanent and removes its messages along with it. If you want to keep history, archive instead by moving to an Archive folder and revoking write permissions.
