Selling on the marketplace
The marketplace is where buyers browse content from every public Outpost shop in one catalogue. If you run an Outpost, your published products can appear there automatically — worlds, token packs, card decks, actors, downloads, rulebooks, and the soundboards and playlists you build in the audio tools.
Set up your shop
Section titled “Set up your shop”Selling happens through your Outpost’s Shop tab. To charge money you need Stripe connected and monetisation switched on — see Connecting Stripe for the onboarding walkthrough. Free products don’t need Stripe: buyers claim them without a checkout.
Create and publish a product
Section titled “Create and publish a product”- Open your Outpost → Shop tab → New product.
- Pick the product type, then fill in the name, price, currency, and description. Content types (worlds, scenes, token packs, and so on) also ask you to pick the source from your own library.
- Click through to the product’s edit page and add what the type needs — files for downloads, a license for content products, cover and gallery images for everything.
- Click Publish. If the button is disabled, the reason shows right beside it (for example, a download needs at least one file first).
For the full walkthrough of each product type, see Selling products and Selling in-app content packs.
List it on the marketplace
Section titled “List it on the marketplace”Each product’s edit page has a Marketplace section with a Show on PostRoll Marketplace switch. It’s on by default: published products on public Outposts appear in the marketplace catalogue and its category pages. Turn it off to sell that product only from your Outpost’s own shop.
Two things control the switch:
- Outpost visibility — products only appear on the marketplace while the Outpost is public. On a private or hidden Outpost the switch is disabled.
- The shop-wide switch — List shop on the marketplace in your Outpost’s settings delists every product in one move.
Selling soundboards and playlists
Section titled “Selling soundboards and playlists”Built a great soundboard or playlist in the audio tools? You can sell it, cover art and all.
- In New product, pick Soundboard or Playlist as the type.
- Choose which of your soundboards or playlists to sell from the list.
- Set a price (or leave it free), add a cover, and publish.
When someone buys it, they get their own copy of the arrangement in their audio tools — and every track in it lands in their audio library, ready to play, drop into their own mixes, or attach to a wiki page. Buyers can preview a few of the tracks right on the product page before they buy.
Soundboards and playlists show up in the marketplace’s Music & audio section.
Pricing: free vs paid
Section titled “Pricing: free vs paid”Set the price when you create the product; 0 makes it free.
- Paid — buyers pay through Stripe checkout; the money lands in your Stripe balance after the platform fee. Requires Stripe and monetisation.
- Free — buyers click Add to library — Free and the content lands in their library instantly, no checkout. Great for previews, quickstarts, and system reference content that pulls people into your paid catalogue.
Updating files
Section titled “Updating files”You can add or swap files on a published download any time from the product’s edit page. Buyers who own the product get an in-app notification — “New files added to …” — pointing them to the latest version, so shipping errata and expansions keeps your buyers current without any extra work.
Sales and analytics
Section titled “Sales and analytics”From the Shop tab, click Dashboard for shop-wide analytics — sales, top products, and refunds over time. Each product also has its own Sales page with all-time totals, a day-by-day chart, and the recent-purchase list where the Refund button lives. Money itself — balance, payouts, fees — lives in the Stripe dashboard linked from your monetisation settings.
