Replying to a message
A reply attaches your new message to a specific earlier one with a quote preview, so anyone reading later sees what you were responding to.
How to reply
Section titled “How to reply”- Hover the message you want to reply to. A small action bar appears at the top right of the bubble.
- Click the reply icon (curved arrow).
- The composer shows a quote preview of the message above your typing area.
- Type your reply and Enter to send.
To cancel before sending, click the × on the quote preview or press Escape.
What recipients see
Section titled “What recipients see”Your message arrives with the quote rendered as an indented block above your text. Clicking the quote scrolls the conversation back to the original message.
Replies vs threads
Section titled “Replies vs threads”A reply quotes a single earlier message and posts in the main channel — everyone sees both the reply and the original in the feed.
A thread moves the back-and-forth out of the main channel into its own slide-over panel. Use threads when the side discussion is likely to span more than a few messages. See Threads.
