Pings & shared cursors

Half of running a map is pointing at it. The tabletop gives you two ways to do that without describing coordinates out loud.

Double-click anywhere on the map. A ripple blooms at that point, tagged with your name, and everyone at the table sees it on their own screen.

Use it for “that door”, “the body is here”, “I’m aiming at this square”. It leaves nothing behind — the ripple fades and the map is untouched.

Hold Shift and double-click. As well as the ripple, everyone else’s camera glides over and zooms in on that point.

This is the one to use when half the table is looking at the wrong end of the dungeon. Your own view stays exactly where it was, so you can keep an eye on something else while you send them somewhere.

While the map is open, your pointer is broadcast to the rest of the table and theirs to you. Each person’s cursor is drawn in their own colour with their name attached, and it moves in real time.

It sounds small; in practice it removes an enormous amount of “no, the other corridor” from a session. You can watch a player hesitate between two doors before they commit.

Open VTT Settings in the toolbar and find the Cursor section:

Setting What it does
Custom Cursor Color Turn it on and pick a colour. Your glow — and the cursor everyone else sees for you — changes to match. Leave it off and you get an automatic colour.
Show Particle Trail On by default. Your cursor leaves a short shimmer behind it as it moves. Turn it off if you find it distracting.

These are per-person settings, saved on your own device.
