The campaign chronicle

Campaign Chronicle on the room’s Chronicle tab is your campaign’s running story — one entry per session, newest first, each a numbered node on a spine you can scroll back through. Any member can write it; it isn’t the GM’s job unless you want it to be.

Each entry shows its session number, the session’s title (or Session 4 if it never got one), the date, and the recap trimmed to four lines. Sessions with nothing written yet say “No recap yet.” The list covers every session the room has scheduled, including ones you haven’t played yet, so future game nights sit at the top waiting for their write-up.

  1. Click Write on an entry — or Edit if there’s already something there.

  2. Fill in whichever of the three fields you want:

    • Player recap — the “previously on…”. This is the one your table reads.
    • Summary — a one-liner for skimming the campaign at a glance.
    • GM notes — plot threads, foreshadowing, what you’re setting up next.
  3. Click Save chronicle. A Chronicle updated toast confirms it.

Draft with AI in the recap editor reads that session’s transcript and writes a first pass. It replaces the Player recap only, leaving your summary and GM notes alone, and nothing saves until you press Save chronicle — so you always get to edit before it lands.

Three things need to be true for it to work:

  • You’re the GM of the room. The button appears for everyone, but non-GMs get a vague “Couldn’t draft a recap” if they try it.
  • The session has a transcript. Without one you’ll get “There’s no transcript for this session yet — nothing to summarise.” Turn on live transcription while you play and it’ll be there next time.
  • The Session recap drafter tool is switched on under Settings → AI tools.

In practice the daily AI allowance means you’ll want Booster or above to use it regularly.

If the room is bound to a world, each entry gets a small arrow icon that opens that session’s page in the world’s wiki. That’s where a recap turns into lore — link it to the NPCs, places, and factions the party ran into.
