Resolving Sync Conflicts
Sometimes a page you edited offline was also changed somewhere else — by a co-author, or by you on another device — before your edit synced. PostRoll never picks a winner silently: it holds both versions and asks you to decide.
When conflicts happen
Section titled “When conflicts happen”After you reconnect (or press Sync now), any collisions show up as a warning: “2 items changed elsewhere while you edited offline” with a Review button. You can also open the same list any time from Settings → Offline via the Resolve conflicts button.
Choosing a version
Section titled “Choosing a version”- Open the Sync conflicts list (the Review button on the warning, or Resolve conflicts in the Offline Library).
- Each item shows its title and when your offline edit collided with the newer change.
- Pick one of the three options for each item.
- Keep both — the safe choice. Your version is saved as a separate page named “… (offline copy)”, and the original keeps the other version. You can merge them by hand later. Available for wiki pages.
- Keep mine — your offline edit wins and replaces the change made elsewhere.
- Keep theirs — the other version wins; your queued offline edit is dropped.
When the item was deleted elsewhere
Section titled “When the item was deleted elsewhere”If something you edited offline was deleted before your edit synced, you’ll see a different pair of choices:
- Restore as copy — your version comes back as a new item, so nothing you wrote is lost.
- Discard my edit — accept the deletion and let your edit go.
And the reverse: if you deleted something offline that someone edited in the meantime, you choose between Keep their version (the newer edit survives) and Delete anyway.
Once every conflict is resolved the list closes itself. Resolving needs a connection — if a choice doesn’t stick, check you’re online and try again.
