Mentions and entities

The composer recognises two kinds of reference: @user to ping a person, and [[entity]] to link an entity from the active world.

Mentioning a user

Type @ followed by part of the username. A small list pops up showing matching members of the current conversation; arrow keys navigate, Enter picks. The mention renders as a chip styled in the group’s accent colour.

Mentioned users get a notification (subject to their per-channel notification settings) and an in-app toast if they’re not viewing the conversation.

Linking an entity

Type [[ followed by the entity’s name. The same kind of popover shows matching entities from the active world: NPCs, places, items, lineages, anything in your wiki. Enter picks.

The chip renders in your group’s accent. Hovering it shows a preview card with the entity’s portrait, summary, and a link through to the wiki page.

Roll a table inline

If you reference an entity that is a roll table, the chip renders with a small Roll button next to it. Click it to roll on the table and post the result as a card in the same channel. See Roll tables.

Broadcast mentions: `@everyone`, `@here` and roles

In a group channel, typing @ also offers @everyone, @here and the group’s roles — but only if your role grants Mention everyone. Each one counts as a mention for the people it covers, so they get the red mention badge and the (n) in the tab title, the same as a personal ping.

@everyone reaches every member of the channel.
@here is meant for members who are online right now. The badge is applied to everyone either way; the difference is intent, and it is the wording people see.
@role (for example @Game Masters) reaches everyone holding that role.

Broadcast mentions render in a warmer, bolder pill than a personal one, so a channel can tell at a glance that it was pinged as a whole. Push and email notifications for broadcasts are not sent yet — the in-app badges and the title count are.

Linking a channel with `#`

Type # and start a channel name to link it. The pill renders as #general and clicking it opens that channel. Only channels in the current group are offered; direct messages have nothing to link.
