Channel banner and accent
Two pieces of visual customisation that personalise a group’s chat: a per-channel banner image and a group-wide accent colour.
Channel banner
Section titled “Channel banner”A faded cover image rendered behind the chat header.
To set one, open Channel settings → Banner for the channel. Upload an image; it shows under the chat header at low opacity so the header text stays readable. The same image renders at full saturation in the About tab of the conversation details panel.
Useful for giving channels a strong identity — #the-tavern with
a tavern interior, #under-the-mountain with a cavern shot. Works
especially well in IC channels.
The Manage channels permission gates this.
Group accent
Section titled “Group accent”A single hex colour that tints chat surfaces in this group: mention chips, unread badges, the chat header gradient, reaction hover halos, forwarded-message attribution borders.
To set one, open Group settings → Overview → Accent colour. Pick a colour. The change applies live across every channel in the group.
If no group accent is set, PostRoll falls back to the active world’s palette pointer colour. DMs and groups without an accent all use the same fallback — picking an accent is what makes a group’s chat feel visually distinct.
Why use either

- Accent — give the whole group a consistent colour identity so members can navigate at a glance.
Both are optional; both are reversible (clear the field to remove).
