Threads

Threads keep extended back-and-forth out of the main channel feed. Pick a message as the thread root, and every reply to it goes into the thread panel — visible to anyone who opens it, but not in the way of the rest of the channel.

Start a thread

Hover a message and click the thread icon (speech bubbles) in the action bar.
The thread panel slides in from the right.
Type and Enter to post the first thread reply.

The original message in the main channel now shows an N replies → affordance under it. Clicking that opens the thread panel for anyone.

In the thread

Replies inside the thread post normally. They’re regular chat messages — you can react, edit, delete, mention, even start a sub-reply (which still posts inside the same thread, not a new one). Threads don’t nest.

OP badge

The original poster’s username gets an OP pill next to it on every one of their messages in the thread, so you can spot the person who started the discussion at a glance — useful when several people are answering and the OP chimes back in.

The badge follows the user identity, not the persona name, so an in-character / out-of-character switch doesn’t strip it.

Browsing every thread in a channel

Open the conversation details panel and switch to the Threads tab (the icon shaped like a cascading reply reel, between Pinned and Files). It lists every thread in the current channel sorted by most recent activity — root preview, reply count, and “last activity Xm ago”. Click any row to open the thread panel.

Closing the thread

Close the panel with the × in its header. The thread doesn’t “end” — it just stops showing. Anyone re-opening the parent’s “N replies” will see the latest state.

When to thread vs reply

Reply — one or two messages of context.
Thread — five-message+ discussions, side investigations, rules debates, anything that would crowd the main channel.
