The token list & groups
Once a map has more than a dozen pieces on it, hunting for one on the canvas gets old. The Tokens panel is the GM’s list of everything in the scene.
Open it from the GM button on the right-edge dock, then the Tokens tab.
The list
Section titled “The list”The header shows how many tokens are in the scene, plus a running count when you’ve selected more than one. Clicking a row selects that token on the map; Shift-click, ⌘-click or Ctrl-click adds and removes rows from the selection, and most actions then apply to everything selected.
The row menu
Section titled “The row menu”Hover a row for the three-dots button, or right-click the row:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Link to actor / Relink actor | Attach the token to a character sheet. |
| Go to sheet | Open the linked character. Greyed out when there’s no link. |
| Overrides | Per-token adjustments to the linked sheet’s values. |
| Add to group / Move to group | Put the token in one of your groups. Moving takes it out of any other. |
| Remove from group | Take it back out. |
| Rename | Change the display name shown at the table. |
| Toggle visibility | Hide the token from the map, or bring it back. |
| Toggle vision | Turn the token’s own sight on or off. |
| Reset position (0,0) | Yanks a token back to the map’s origin square. |
| Delete | Removes the token from the scene. |
Groups
Section titled “Groups”Groups are folders for tokens: the six goblins, the caravan guards, the crowd in the market.
- Click Group in the panel header.
- Type a name when prompted.
- Use Add to group on each token’s row menu — or select several rows first and add them in one go.
A group appears as a collapsible header above its members. Clicking the header selects the whole group at once.
The group menu
Section titled “The group menu”The three-dots button on a group header gives you:
- Rename — change the group’s name.
- Share initiative — a tick box, described below.
- Delete group — removes the folder. The tokens themselves stay in the scene.
Share initiative
Section titled “Share initiative”Tick Share initiative and the group rolls one initiative for all its members. Six goblins take one slot in the turn order instead of six, and they all act together.
It’s the single biggest time saver for a crowded encounter. See Managing combatants for how the shared slot behaves once combat is running.
