Tabletop settings
Open VTT Settings from the toolbar to change how the table looks and behaves for you. Most of these are your own preferences — changing them doesn’t affect what anyone else sees.
Connection & Sync
Section titled “Connection & Sync”Shows whether your view is keeping up: Live, Syncing… (“Catching up with the server.”), Reconnecting…, or Out of sync. Resync now pulls the latest state of the scene if your view has drifted.
See If your view falls behind for what to do when this doesn’t clear on its own.
Table Feel
Section titled “Table Feel”Five switches for how much the table moves and talks around you. All five are yours alone — nobody else’s screen changes.
| Switch | What it does |
|---|---|
| UI Sounds | Soft synthesised cues for turns, dice, cards, crits and pauses. Off by default. |
| Chrome Recedes When Idle | Floating panels and toolbars fade back while your pointer is on the map. |
| Radial Right-Click Menu | Right-click the map for a ring of options you can flick through without letting go of the button. Off gives you a plain list. Touch always uses the list. |
| Show Aura Zones | Draws the reach of auras under the token carrying them — see Token settings. Turning it off only hides the rings; the aura still works. |
| Show Cover Rays | While you’re picking targets, hovering a target traces the five lines the table uses to work out cover — red where a wall is in the way. On for GMs, off for players, until you change it. See Attacks, saves & cover. |
Vignette Overlay
Section titled “Vignette Overlay”Show Vignette darkens the edges of the map for a more cinematic look, and Opacity controls how strong it is.
Cursor
Section titled “Cursor”Custom Cursor Color sets the colour other people see your pointer in, and Show Particle Trail adds a trail behind it. See Pings & shared cursors.
Movement
Section titled “Movement”- Show Movement Arrow — draws an arrow from a token’s start point while you drag it, so the table can see where it’s heading.
- Block Movement by Walls — stops tokens being dragged through walls.
Targeting
Section titled “Targeting”Arc Animation styles the line drawn to a target — Crawling Dashes, Traveling Pulse, Progressive Draw, or Static — and Targeting Color sets its colour. See Targeting.
Conditions
Section titled “Conditions”Token Indicator Style decides how conditions appear on a token:
| Style | Looks like |
|---|---|
| Badges | Small icons around the token |
| Labels | Named text chips |
| Spinning Rings | Rotating rings around the token |
| Dot Bar | A compact row of coloured dots |
| None | Nothing on the token — check the Status panel instead |
Arrow Gradient
Section titled “Arrow Gradient”Start Color and End Color set the colours the movement arrow fades between.
Measurement
Section titled “Measurement”Units changes what the ruler reports:
- Grid Squares
- D&D 5ft per Square
- Daggerheart Ranges
- Daggerheart Range Rings
See Measuring distance for how the two Daggerheart modes differ.
