Reporting content
See something that doesn’t belong — spam, harassment, hate, NSFW in the wrong place, anything that breaks your Outpost’s rules? Flag it. Outpost moderators review every report first; serious issues get escalated to PostRoll staff from there.
Report a post
Section titled “Report a post”- Open the post.
- Click the More menu (the ⋯ icon at the top right of the post card).
- Choose Report post.
- Pick a category that best describes the problem — spam, harassment, hate speech, NSFW in the wrong place, violence, self-harm, illegal content, or “something else”.
- Add context — what happened, why this breaks the rules. 1–500 characters.
- Submit. You’ll see a confirmation toast.
If you change your mind about the wording, just report the same post again — your open report gets updated rather than stacking into a duplicate.
Report a comment
Section titled “Report a comment”Hover over the comment and click the flag icon that appears on the right. Same dialog, same categories.
Report a chat message
Section titled “Report a chat message”In any chat channel, right-click (or long-press) a message and choose Report — see the chat moderation guide for the full flow. The report goes through the same two-tier system described below.
Report a shop product
Section titled “Report a shop product”If you spot a shop listing that violates Postroll’s policies — stolen art, scams, illegal content, etc. — open the product detail page and click Report this product at the bottom. Same category list + reason field as posts and comments. The Outpost’s moderators see the report first; if the product needs to come down, Delete soft- deletes the listing (existing buyers keep their access).
Who sees your report
Section titled “Who sees your report”PostRoll runs two-tier moderation:
- Outpost moderators — the Outpost owner and anyone they’ve given moderator permissions — see the report first in their Outpost’s moderation queue.
- If they can’t or shouldn’t decide (a serious issue, a personal conflict, anything that needs platform-wide judgement), they escalate the report to PostRoll staff, who handle it from there.
Either tier can:
- Dismiss — close the report with no action.
- Delete — remove the offending content. A copy is kept for the record, but it’s no longer visible to anyone.
What if the moderator IS the problem?
Section titled “What if the moderator IS the problem?”If you can’t trust the Outpost’s moderators to handle a report fairly, email hello@postroll.app directly — we’ll review without going through the Outpost’s queue.
False reports
Section titled “False reports”Repeatedly filing false reports can result in your account being restricted. Use the report button in good faith.
