Managing combatants

The roster in the Combat tab is one row per combatant. It is the GM’s main working surface during a fight.

Reading a row left to right:

  • The token’s picture, or its first initial if it has no art.
  • The combatant’s name. It is struck through and the whole row fades once the combatant is marked as defeated.
  • Condition chips underneath the name — a coloured dot and the condition’s label, up to three, then +n for the rest.
  • Resource readouts beside them, such as HP 12/20, for up to two resources.
  • Small icons for status: a skull for defeated, and an eye-with-a-slash (GM only) for hidden.
  • The initiative value, or a dash when nobody has rolled yet.
  • A dice button — shown to anyone allowed to roll for that combatant, which means the GM on every row and players on the combatants they control.

Right-click any row (or any portrait on the turn tracker) for the combatant menu:

Item What it does
Set as active turn Hands the turn straight to this combatant
Pan to token Moves your camera to its token on the map
Roll initiative / Re-roll initiative Rolls a d20 and writes the result into its initiative
Clear initiative Empties the value so it can be rolled again
Mark as defeated / Mark as active Fades and strikes through the combatant, and skips it when the turn advances
Hide from players / Show to players Hides the combatant from everyone but the GM — useful for an ambush that has not sprung yet
Remove from combat Takes it out of the turn order entirely. The token stays on the map

Tokens gathered into a group can act on a single initiative, so eight goblins take one slot instead of eight. The roster shows the group as one collapsible row with the group’s name, a count, and a shared initiative value; expand it with the chevron to see the individual members.

Rolling on the group row — or typing a value into it — sets that initiative for every member at once. See Organising tokens for how to build a group.
